About My Teaching
I have six years of experience teaching over a hundred international school students between the ages of 10 to 16, and a proven track record with secondary school entrance exams, Key Stage 3, GCSEs, IGCSEs as well as the IB MYP programme.
I have a distinctively easygoing and relaxed style of teaching. My specialty lies in working with lower level students who have fallen behind in their studies, struggle with low motivation and the notion that maths isn’t for them. However I am capable of covering a range of abilities.
My biggest strengths:
- Ability to connect and relate with students
- Ability to break down complex problems down into manageable and understandable chunks.
- Patience and adaptability when students are experiencing difficulty
- Willingness to put in any extra work to make sure my students feel more comfortable with their maths
I am happy to provide an extra 10/15 minutes if students need at the end of class and I am willing to set and check homework and always do a review video before any tests.
I have a Youtube channel so students are welcome to request a video about a topic which I will make.
Students are welcome to have access to my phone number to contact me if they have any questions over the week.

About Online Learning

Since the pandemic, I have taught over two thousand hours of maths online.
I use a combination of Zoom and an interactive whiteboard. This has proven effective with students who enjoy the interactive nature and simplicity of the whiteboard. Instead of me just lecturing, we are able to work just as we would face-to-face with lots of collaboration.
I have subcriptions to both Zoom and the whiteboard so this software comes at no charge to students. I provide all students with a free digital pen which they can plug into their laptop via USB drive to make writing easier as writing with a mouse or trackpad is cumbersome.
From personal experience, I do believe that online tutoring is not suitable for every student and will always be honest after our first few sessions whether or not online learning will be effective for particular learners.
